What Are Luxury Vinyl Tiles?
At Firstpoint Flooring, we specialise in the supply and fitting of a wide range of luxury vinyl tiles (LVTs) from some of the UK’s premium commercial flooring manufacturers.
Luxury vinyl tiles are made from a strong composite polymer material that blends vinyl with ground limestone or wood chippings, lending a feeling of natural authenticity to a floor, as well as superb durability. The polymer is treated with a layer of aluminium oxide to prevent scratches, and a clear resin layer to guard against tears and rips. The wood or stone effect (or other abstract design in some cases) is created through a digital graphic film, which guarantees a photo-realistic representation of the source material.
LVT units are generally square or rectangular in shape to resemble ceramic or stone tiles, but luxury vinyl planks are also available that imitate various hardwood floor planks.
The best LVT flooring products – such as those produced by Karndean, Tarkett, or Amtico, and supplied by Firstpoint Flooring – are indistinguishable from genuine wood or stone flooring, with the added benefit of superior resilience, lower maintenance, and a much-reduced price tag!
The cost effectiveness of luxury vinyl tiles makes it an ideal option for commercial flooring over larger areas, in which traditional hardwood or stone flooring would be prohibitively expensive. It also means you can replicate the luxury and elegance of traditional flooring in rooms above ground level, without the weight considerations of traditional materials. LVT products are available in an almost endless array of styles, shapes, designs and textured effects, giving you great scope to create authentic and eye-catching designs in any space.
